tribe for the masses austin store

If you’ve been reading Dose Of Dash for a while you may remember last year’s post on Tribe For the Masses. Tribe is a pop-up shop started by sisters Brooke and Courtney Calhoun with the tagline, “Curated Goods for the Life Well Lived.”

The sisters do just that — curate the aesthetically chic — by sourcing products from over 40 different brands and artists. Many of these artists are exclusive to Tribe. The shop is downtown again this year, but this time at 323 Congress Avenue (next to Annie’s near 4th street) and it runs until the 23rd of December.

Last year I asked the Calhouns whether they would consider turning Tribe in a brick & mortar shop or considering somehow making the business year-round but that wasn’t in the cards. This year things are a little different — the Tribe e-commerce site is launching in early 2014 and the sisters are also thinking about doing a pop-up around SXSW time.

Tribe 2013 is much bigger than last year and you can get anything from handcrafted furniture to locally-made men’s denim to affordable art to gently used designer kicks. Red velvet YSL sandals, anyone?

My two favorite things were this bold cuff and these sumptuous python clutches.
